About the Author
Graham Davis is a storyteller drawn to history, forgotten places, and the ordinary lives that hide extraordinary stories. His writing began with curiosity - the question, "What happened here?" - sparked by abandoned buildings, faded photographs, and local legends. Those fragments of the past became the foundation of his fiction.
His path to publication has been shaped by persistence, false starts, and notebooks filled with half-finished plots. He jokes that writing a novel is the easy part; the challenge is resisting every new idea that appears along the way. That restless imagination also gives his stories their unexpected turns and hidden depths.
A passionate reader, Graham counts The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón among his greatest inspirations. Its blend of mystery, atmosphere, and forgotten histories left a lasting imprint, reflected in his own affection for old buildings, hidden secrets, and places that seem to carry echoes of the past.
His fiction explores memory, loss, redemption, and the quiet ways the past shapes the present. While writing The Cinema of Forgotten Souls: The Reckoning, he often followed research trails into historical details that might appear in only a single sentence. He also welcomes the moments when characters surprise him and take the story somewhere unplanned.
Beyond the page, Graham enjoys exploring local history, visiting old buildings, and browsing archives in search of untold stories. Like many authors, he has wrestled with self-doubt, procrastination, and the temptation to endlessly revise, but he has learned that every story must eventually find its own wings.
The Cinema of Forgotten Souls: The Reckoning reflects his belief that forgotten stories deserve to be remembered and that even the darkest secrets eventually find their way into the light. His work reminds readers that history lives not only in textbooks, but in the walls, streets, and voices of ordinary places.
"I write about forgotten places because I believe the walls around us remember more than we think." - Graham Davis
