About the Author: Edward T. Oakes, S.J., is professor of systematic theology at the University of St. Mary of the Lake / Mundelein Seminary in Mundelein, Illinois. He is the author of Pattern of Redemption: The Theology of Hans Urs von Balthasar and coeditor of The Cambridge Companion to Hans von Balthasar.
