Stop Unplanned Machine Failures, Streamline Maintenance Workflows, and Maximize Plant Uptime with Proven Industrial Protocols.
Unplanned equipment downtime drains industrial profitability, halts production lines, and exposes maintenance teams to chaotic emergency repairs. In most manufacturing plants and commercial facilities, equipment breakdowns are not caused by complex anomalies, but by simple, compounding failures: missed lubrication cycles, loose electrical terminations, unmonitored thermal hotspots, and neglected mechanical wear. Transitioning from reactive firefighting to a disciplined preventive maintenance program requires structured protocols, consistent inspection cadences, and reliable field documentation.
Industrial Preventive Maintenance Playbook: Standard Operating Procedures, Inspection Checklists & Scheduling Strategies to Eliminate Equipment Downtime provides a practical, field-tested operations manual engineered for maintenance leads, plant managers, facility technicians, and reliability engineers. Moving past dense reliability theory, this guide delivers plug-and-play standard operating procedures (SOPs), comprehensive jobsite inspection checklists, and scheduling architectures designed for immediate plant-floor execution.
What You Will Master Inside:
-
Building a Rock-Solid PM Program: Shifting from emergency breakdown response to structured preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) workflows that safeguard asset life cycles.
-
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Step-by-step procedures for servicing critical industrial assets, including three-phase AC motors, industrial gearboxes, centrifugal pumps, air compressors, conveyor systems, and hydraulic power units.
-
Electrical System PM Protocols: Thermographic infrared scanning procedures, switchgear and MCC panel inspections, contact torque verification, terminal tightening schedules, and motor insulation resistance (megohmmeter) testing routines.
-
Mechanical Inspection & Lubrication Management: Bearing lubrication calculation formulas, grease compatibility matrices, oil sampling protocols, belt tensioning verification, and laser shaft alignment tolerances.
-
Ready-to-Use Inspection Checklists: Field-ready shiftly, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance checklists formatted for fast technician sign-off and auditing.
-
Scheduling Strategies & CMMS Setup: Structuring work order priorities, calculating Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), managing spare parts inventory, and setting realistic PM calendar intervals.
-
Root-Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA): Practical techniques to analyze repeated mechanical and electrical component failures, execute the 5-Whys method, and permanently close maintenance failure loops.
Engineered for Plant Floor Execution and Reliability Excellence
Every chapter includes practical process workflows, standardized data-logging forms, task checklists, and interval calculation guides. Whether you are standardizing maintenance across a fast-paced manufacturing plant, launching a formal PM program from scratch, or upgrading asset reliability, this playbook serves as your operational blueprint.
