He was a National Science Foundation (NSF) Recipient for Process Control in 1997 and received another NSF grant in 2005 to develop multimedia materials covering industrial automation related topics. In addition, Mr. Bartelt's Electromechanical Technology Program was presented the Secretary of Education Award as one of the top ten community college programs in the country.
