Print on Demand. This book tells the story of Baptists in Indiana from their earliest history in the late 18th century to the year 1908. The author's purpose in writing the book was to give readers an overview of the Baptists' role in the development of the state of Indiana, as well as to provide insights on central tenets of the Baptist faith. The book contains first-hand accounts from some of the earliest Baptist settlers, transcriptions of sermons, and several historical documents. These materials provide a rich picture of not only the Baptist community in Indiana, but also of the social and cultural landscape of the state during this period. The author himself was an active participant in the Baptist community, which lends a personal touch to the writing. Readers interested in the history of Indiana, religious history, or the history of Baptist churches will find this volume to be a valuable resource. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
