Many English speakers, myself included, can feel a bit lost and confused with the names of all the different Spanish tenses that are used. Present, Past, Future – we get those. But PAST IMPERFECT SUBJUNCTIVE or PAST PLUPERFECT? Nope, no idea what those mean.
Why does it matter? Because the subjunctive tense is what allows us to express wishes and dreams and desires, and even commands! This tense is what lets native Spanish speakers express themselves so colorfully.
And that’s why, in addition to having explanations for what different tenses do, and how they are formed, we also need EXAMPLES.
In this book, James Roseborough, a ShareLingo participant, shares hundreds of examples that he put together to help other ShareLingo students, both English and Spanish speakers, better understand how to use this magical tense without going crazy with the grammar rules.
Yes, grammar explanations are included, but the real aim is to provide meaningful examples for everyday speech.
I know you’ll love it.
¡Que Tengas un Buen Día!
(Yes, that’s a subjunctive expression you’ll want to use all the time)
