Print on Demand. This book presents an in-depth analysis of the eighteenth-century impeachment of Warren Hastings, exploring the nexus between politics, power, and justice in the era. It traces the evolution of the charges against Hastings, the political factions involved, and the legal and historical significance of the trial. The author examines the strategies employed by Hastings' accusers and defenders, and the broader implications of the impeachment for the development of British parliamentary governance. Drawing on archival research and a comprehensive understanding of the historical context, this book provides valuable insights into the complex interplay of law, politics, and empire in the late eighteenth century. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.

Candour and fairnefs the Editor has ever deemed due to thofe who thought him worthy their counte nance and therefore it is, that he has {lated circum ltances, in the narrative of which he may appear, perhaps, too much the hero of his own little tale; but he is willing to face that imputation, when he reflects that his motive cannot be confidered as im proper or queltionable.
