Gold has a way of changing people.
The gleam of coins scattered across the room caught their eyes.
Then they saw the rest.
The ogre had amassed more gold than any of them had ever seen – more than they had ever imagined could exist.
For a moment, they forgot why they were there.
They forgot their prime suspect.
They forgot the danger.
All they could see was gold.
And they weren't the only ones being consumed by the desire for more.
The world Roni entered in Bitten is becoming increasingly dangerous. Greed is spreading. Loyalties are being tested. Power has a way of revealing what people truly want – and what they are willing to do to get it.
The consequences of Roni's choices continue to reach far beyond Imen-Hera as those around her become caught between desire, loyalty and survival.
Some will chase gold.
Some will chase power.
And some will become ruthless enough to take whatever stands between them and what they want.
Continue the Imen of Atlantis saga in Ruthless – where wanting more may be the most dangerous temptation of all.
