Chapter One
On the Priority of Imaginary SpaceIn medieval times, the nominalists prevailed in a debate that engaged thinkers from Boethius (ca. 480-525) to Ockham (ca. 1288-1348) and beyond. They asserted that only particulars exist and denied that universals are real, i.e. that they exist as entities or beings. In contrast, the idealists maintained that universals are real and exist independently of that on which they might refer (universalia ante res). A third position was presented by the realists, who took the stance that universals are real to the effect that the particulars instantiate the universals (universalia in rebus).
Although the nominalists prevailed in this debate, they were not able to do so in the field of mathematics, where it's generally assumed, down to the present day, that the existence of mathematical entities is basically independent of human minds. Thus humans don't invent, but rather discover mathematics.
Beyond that, renowned contemporary thinkers hold the opinion that not only mathematics, but also human musical, artistic, and aesthetic creativity and appreciation come from contact with the Platonic world of reality (1).
On top of this, the ultimate question has always been whether there are `universalia ante res' impinging on our destiny and fortune - and if so, where such universals could reside?
The following derivation is designed to give an answer to these questions:
Let MR be a Minkowski space, which is a 4-dimensional flat Lorentzian manifold,
and let MC be the complexified MR of dimensionality 8,
with 4 real -tRe and xRe, yRe, zRe and 4 imaginary dimensions -tlm and xlm, ylm, zlm.
Then, the standard basis for MR will be a set of 4 mutually orthogonal vectors (-e0, e1, e2, e3), such that
(-e0)2 = (e1)2 = (e2)2 = (e3)2 = +1,
and for MC there will be an additional set of 4 mutually orthogonal vectors (-i0, i1, i2, i3), such that
(-i0)2 = (i1)2 = (i2)2 = (i3)2 = -1.
Accordingly, each point PC in Mc can be written as
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
with tr, ti, xr, xi, yr, yi, zr, Zi [member of] R, e2 = +1 and i2 = -1.
Furthermore, the matrix product of two complex points in Mc will be pc x p'c = PC [member of] MC =>
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
with (2)
Tr = t'r tr + y'r xr - t'i ti - y'i xi,
Xr = - x'r tr + z'r xr + X'i ti - Z'i xi,
Yr = - t'r yr + y'r zr + Vi yi - y'i zi,
Zr = x'r yr + Z'r Zr - X'i yi - Z'i zi,
Ti = t'i tr + y'i Xr + t'r ti + y'r Xi,
Xi = - x'i tr + Z'i Xr - x'r ti + Z'r Xi,
Yi = - y'i yr + y'i Zr - t'r yi + y'r Zi,
Zi = x' iyr + z'i zr + x'r yi + z'r zi.
Now, let
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
with
Tr = - t'i ti - y'i xi,
Xr = + X'i ti - z'i Xi,
Yr = + t'i yi - y'i Zi,
Zr = - x'i yi - z'i zi.
Consequently, let Ml be a subgroup of MC (MI [subset] MC), defined by this premise:
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
The matrix product PC of imaginary points pi, p'i, MI
is not an element of MI (pi, x p'i, = PC [member of is not equal to] MI [subset] MC),
but an element of MR (pi, x p'i, = PC [member of] MR [subset] MC).
Now, let 3T(1) be the operator, which allows a mapping from the imaginary to the real Minkowski space (MI -> MR).
For example:
3T1 [member of] MI with
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
=>
Tr = Xr = - ti + xi,
Yr = Zr = yi + zi,
3T2 [member of] MI with
lm(- t'r - it'i) = lm(x'r + ix'i) = -1,
lm(y'r+ iy'i) = lm(z'r + iz'i) = 0
=>
Tr = Xr = -ti,
Yr = Zr = yi,
3T3 [member of MI with
lm(- t'r - it'i) = lm(x'r + ix'i) = 0,
lm(y'r+ iy'i) = lm(z'r + iz'i) = -1
=>
Tr = Xr = xi,
Yr = Zr = zi,
3T4 [member of] MI with
lm(- t'r - it'i) = lm(y'r + iy'i) = -1,
lm(x'r+ ix'i) = lm(z'r + iz'i) = 0
=>
Tr = - ti + xi,
Yr = yi + zi,
Xr = Zr = 0,
3T5 [member of] MI with
lm(- t'r - it'i) = lm(y'r + iy'i) = 0,
lm(x'r+ ix'i) = lm(z'r + iz'i) = -1,
=>
Tr = - tr + xi,
Zr = yi + zi,
Tr = Yr = 0,
3T6 [member of] MI with
lm(- t'r - it'i) = lm(z'r + iz'i) = -1,
lm(y'r+ iy'i) = lm(x'r + ix'i) = 0,
=>
Tr = - ti,
Xr = xi, Yr = yi,
Zr = zi,
3T7 [member of] MI with
lm(- t'r - it'i) = lm(z'r + iz'i) = 0,
lm(y'r+ iy'i) = lm(x'r + ix'i) = -1,
=>
Tr = xi,
Xr = - ti, Yr = zi,
Zr = yi,
Which means that the invertible matrix
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
is the operator for mapping the imaginary to the real Minkowski space (MI -> MR).
Moreover, we can define an operator allowing time flashes, i.e. a transformation from a past or future imaginary constellation into the real space-time:
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
is the operator for mapping imaginary past or future constellations into the real present.
Chapter Two
Let there be LightNow, let ER be a 4-dimensional Euclidean space, and let EC be the complexified ER of dimensionality 8,
with 4 real wRe, xRe, yRe and zRe, and 4 imaginary dimensions wlm, xlm, ylm and zlm.
Then, the standard basis for ER will be a set of 4 mutually orthogonal vectors (e0, e1, e2, e3), such that
(e0)2 = (e1)2 = (e2)2 = (e3)2 = +1,
and for EC there will be an additional set of 4 mutually orthogonal vectors (i0, i1, i2, i3), such that
(i0)2 = (i1)2 = (i2)2 = (i3)2 = -1,
Accordingly, each point Pc in EC can be written as
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
With wr, wi, xr, xi, yr, yi, zr, zi [member of] R,
e2 = +1 and i2 = -1.
Furthermore, the matrix product of two complex points in EC will be pc x p'c = PC [member of] EC =>
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
with (2)
Wr = w'r wr + y'r xr - w'i wi - y'i xi,
Xr = x'r wr + z'r xr - x'i wi - z'i xi,
Yr = w'r yr + y'r zr - w'i yi - y'i zi,
Zr = x'r yr + Z'r zr - x'i yi - z'i zi,
Wi = w'i wr + y'i xr + w'r wi + y'r xi,
Xi = x'i wr + Z'i xr + x'r wi + z'r xi,
Yi = w'i yr + y'i zr + w'r yi + y'r zi,
Zi = x'i yr + Z'i zr + x'r yi + z'r zi.
Now, let
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
with
Wr = - w'i wi - y'i xi,
Xr = - x'i wi - z'i xi,
Yr = - w'i yi - y'i zi,
Zr = - x'i yi - z'i zi.
Consequently, let Ei be a subgroup of Ec (Ei c Ec), defined by this premise:
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
The matrix product Pc of imaginary points pi, p'i [member of] EI
is not an element of EI (pi, x p'i = PC [member of is not equal to] EI [subset] EC),
but an element of ER (pi, x p'i, = PC [member of] ER [subset] EC).
Now, let 3TC [member of] EI be a non-invertible (singular) matrix with
lm(w'r - iw'i) = lm(y'r + iy'i) = -1,
lm(x'r+ ix'i) = lm(z'r + iz'i) = 0,
=>
Wr = wi + xi,
Yr = yi + zi, Xr = Zr = 0.
And let pi [member of] EI be
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
with the `form factors'
wi; = [lambda], xi; = - [lambda]; yi = +1, zi = -1 (or vice versa)
=> pi, x 3TC =
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
or
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
Which can be interpreted as two photons with wavelength [lambda] in opposite directions and clockwise (+1) / counterclock-wise (-1) spin being created by the action of the creation operator 3TC for a short period
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
Chapter Three
Gluon Pair ProductionAs mentioned before, the matrix product of two complex points in EC with
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
with
Wr = - w'i wi - y'i xi,
Xr = - x'i wi - z'i xi,
Yr = - w'i yi - y'i zi,
Zr = - x'i yi - z'i zi.
Again, let 3TC [member of] EI be the creation operator with
lm(w'r - iw'i) = lm(y'r + iy'i) = -1,
lm(x'r+ ix'i) = lm(z'r + iz'i) = 0,
=>
Wr = wi + xi,
Yr = yi + zi,
Xr = Zr = 0.
Now let pi [member of] EI be
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
with the 'charge/form factors',
wi =r[bar.b], xi; = b[bar.r], or
wi =r[bar.g], xi; = g[bar.r], or
wi =b[bar.g], xi; = g[bar.r], or
wi = [bar.rr], xi = -b[bar.b] for the gluon states(2) and
yi = +1, zi = -1 (or vice versa) for the spin
=> pi, x 3TC =
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
or
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
or
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
or
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
However, the Gell-Mann matrices (3) provide another four gluon states; three of them ([lambda]2, [lambda]5, [lambda]7) can be derived as follows:
Let pc [member of] Ec be
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
with wr = r[bar.b], xr = - b[bar.r], or wr = r[bar.g], xr = - g[bar.r], or wr = b[bar.g], xr = - g[bar.b] and yi; = +1, zi = -1
=> pc x 3TC =
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
with
Wi = + w'i wr + y'i xr,
Yr = - w'i yi - y'i zi,
Xi = zr = 0.
=> PC =
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
or
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
or
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
The gluon state derived from the Gell-Mann matrix [lambda]8 needs extra consideration:
Let pi [member of] EI be
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
with wi = [bar.rr]+xi = -g[bar.g]-g[bar.g], or wi = [bar.rr]+xi = -b[bar.b]-b[bar.b], or wi = b[bar.b]+xi = -[bar.rr]-[bar.rr], and yi; = +1, zi = -1
=> pi x 3TC =
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
or
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
or
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
Therefore, we get not only two, but six possibilities in this case, which finally yields all the eight gluon states (4):
[MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
Chapter Four
Putting Things TogetherIt has been shown that the described mathematical model provides derivations of space, time and energy from imaginary sources (MI and EI). Also, future constellations can be projected into present space-time.
The imaginary precursors of force particles (photons, gluons) combine opposites in spin, propagation direction and color charge into one matrix; they undergo polarization only after being transformed into real space - which means that multiplication with the described creation operator actually amounts to a process of symmetry breaking.
