endpaper+t.p.+244, lacking last endpaper. An 1856 dated ink gift inscrip to fr.free endpaper, sl.darkening/wrinkling to outer margin from endpaper through to p.133, tiny chip halfway down t.p.outer edge, sm.early label ghost centre fr.pastedown (no sign of lib.provenance however), end pastedown has remnant of what appears to be a printed sheet of biblical text, various early ink smudges and sm.early ink sig. which appears to read 'Cathren Youart/Holy Island' - a different name to that on fr.endpaper, some very minor occasional corner creasing, text tight and unmarked; covers generally secure but darkened and rubbed to extremeties with surface dents and wear in places, gilt title lettering to spine and neat repair to top. Not brilliant then, but a good acceptable working copy of this apparently very scarce work by the eminent Scottish Enlightenment philosopher. Seller Inventory # 003040
