Marbled Endpapers. Each book has a Colour Frontispiece and Title Page printed in Red and Black. Illustrated with B&W Plates, mostly portraits of the Authors. Includes Kipling. Trollope, Beecher Stowe, Zola, Pushkin, Defoe, Spenser, Charles Kingsley, Shakespeare, Marlowe, Milton, Sir Walter Raleigh, Goethe, Thackeray, Dickens, Edgar Allan Poe and many others. 9 1/2" Tall. Some wear to leather and some scrapes, mainly at corners. Spine colour faded to pleasant brown. A little faint foxing to first and last few pages but only an occasional spot elsewhere. Hinges sound.
