series title + collective t.p. headed 'English Reprints' with list verso+Howell t.p.+88 (w.facs. 1642 t.p. p.7); Udall t.p.+88; Monk of Evesham t.p.+112; James VI of Scotland, I of England t.p.+120+(2, notice for The Paston Letters); all edges red, editor's name, title and address in red on t.p.s, all titles given as 'carefully edited by Edward Arber'; foxing from verso fr.free endpaper disappearing by p.11 of first work. sl. gutter opening after fr.free endpaper not affecting tightness, otherwise internally clean, tight & unmarked. Beveled-edge blind-stamped green cloth covers clean, bright and unworn bar v.faint hint of rubbing sp.ends. Scarce in such good condition. At this time the series was being issued monthly by individual titles, in 'occasional Volumes' of 2 or 3 titles (as this is) and in quarto. Arber was 'Associate' of King's College, London'. Apparently privately issued by Arber, some sellers give Murray as publisher of titles in the series but no evidence of this here.
