They thought they built the perfect biological weapon, but they actually built a door and something on the other side is pushing it open.
When a terrifying new pathogen erupts in the densely populated streets of New Delhi, lead epidemiologist Dr. Kabir Anand is dragged into the darkest, most classified corners of the Indian Ministry of Defense. The government claims the outbreak is a tragic natural anomaly. The truth is far worse.
Project IN-45389 is not a virus, it is a man made dimensional tether.
Designed by a brilliant but secretive scientist who died in her own laboratory, the pathogen uses human cellular collapse to generate kinetic energy, tearing a hole into a dying parallel universe. And the infection is spreading rapidly.
As the multiversal bridge widens, a terrified military high command prepares a horrifying contingency: the complete thermal incineration of two major cities to cauterize the threat. Millions of innocent lives will be turned to ash by sunrise.
With the countdown ticking, Kabir’s only hope is Ritika Kaul, the estranged daughter of the weapon's dead architect. Ritika soon discovers her mother did not just build a doomsday machine. She hid an absolute "off switch" in her own genetic code, locked behind a childhood cipher only her daughter could solve.
Hunted by their own military and aided by a rogue intelligence handler, Kabir and Ritika must violently breach a heavily fortified government compound to synthesize the cure. But deploying the countermeasure requires a terrifying leap of faith. To close the bridge, they need help from the other side.
In the dark bedrock of a parallel earth, a starving, alien collective consciousness must make a choice: let humanity burn to save itself, or pay the ultimate price to close the door forever.
A pulse pounding collision of cutting edge quantum biology and explosive geopolitical thriller, IN-45389/K is a story of terrifying discoveries, generational sacrifice and the brutal arithmetic of saving the world.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
