Each volume contains a previous owner's bookplate. Patchy foxing in margins of pages 260-261 in vol. 1. Small hole in the cloth on the back edge of vol. 3's spine. Scattered pencil underlining in vol. 7; text clean in other volumes. Patchy tanning in gutter of pages 246-247 in vol. 8 where a newspaper clipping was tucked; base of this volume's spine is faintly stained. Binding is tight across the set. Very good condition overall. Anthology of pivotal documents that represent the intellectual, moral, and scientific progress of mankind.
