You spent thousands on the radio. You're still getting outworked by guys with half your signal.
The Icom IC-7610 is arguably the most capable direct-sampling transceiver ever built for amateur radio. Two independent 16-bit receivers. Panoramic spectrum analysis. DSP that can pull signals from noise you didn't know was there. And yet—most owners use maybe 30% of what this machine can actually do.
This book changes that.
The IC-7610 DX Machine is the advanced operator's field manual for extracting every decibel of performance from this remarkable radio. Written for experienced hams, contesters, and DX chasers who are done settling for "good enough," this guide goes far beyond the factory manual to reveal the configuration secrets, workflow tactics, and station architecture that separate the operators who work DX from the operators who dominate it.
Inside, you'll discover how to:
- Master true dual-receiver operation for split-frequency DXing, diversity reception, and simultaneous band monitoring that keeps you ahead of pileups
- Optimize receiver performance through systematic RMDR management, AGC profiling, and noise reduction strategies tailored to real-world conditions—not theory
- Configure mode-specific excellence for CW, SSB, and digital operation, including the APF settings, filter stacking, and macro workflows that elite contesters actually use
- Integrate amplification and station systems with precision—from ACOM and SPE amplifiers to antenna switching, rotator automation, and remote operation architecture
- Build propagation timing into your operating DNA, using solar data, gray-line geometry, and pattern recognition to be on the right frequency when rare entities appear
If you're ready to stop wondering why your IC-7610 isn't delivering the DX results you expected—and start operating it like the professional-grade instrument it was designed to be—this is the book that closes the gap.
