This book covers recent developments and modernization in hybrid manufacturing processes (HMPs). It offers a comprehensive detail and analysis of recent advances in HMPs to complement micromachining to additive manufacturing. The book will provide readers with a thorough understanding of the advances in HMPs in forming, additive, and subtractive domains, making it an invaluable resource for scientists, scholars, engineers, and industry professionals. Innovative strategies and latest tools and techniques are required to apply the HMPs for specific practical applications in various industries. With the latest developments in HMPs, this book offers a comprehensive guide for comprehending and utilizing HMPs to fulfil different requirements related to cost, quality, and sustainability.
Authored by expert contributors from across the globe, this book mainly covers a detailed introduction of hybrid manufacturing processes and systems, modern hybrid machining with special focus on electric discharge hybrid machining processes especially electrochemical discharge machining for microparts and features; details on hybrid magnetorheological finishing for optical components; casting and forming based hybrid manufacturing processes; hybrid additive-subtractive manufacturing; case studies on important sustainability interventions in hybrid manufacturing processes; and recent developments in electrochemical hybrid machining. Details on novel hybridization, intelligent optimization, hybrid postprocessing for additively manufactured parts, and sustainability assessment for hybrid manufacturing, make this book unique among other resources available.
