The Hawker Hurricane was the mainstay of the RAF during the early years of World War II. It saw extensive service in the Battle of Britain, over the Meditteranean and even saw action on the Eastern Front. With a 1,260 horsepower Merlin engine the Hurricane was, for its time, one of the best fighters ever produced.
