Virginia Finley's world was already fragile after the sudden death of her mother. Left to care for her younger sister, Josephine, she accepted help from the one man who offered it freely. Hunter Maddox is a decorated police officer and trusted face in their community but his badge hides something far more dangerous. What begins as protection and support spirals into control and isolation. Hunter's charm masks an unexpected history. As fear tightens its grip, Gia's world becomes smaller and more dangerous.
But just as the walls begin to close in, an unexpected ally steps forward. Nicolas Diaz, who was once just a familiar face in class, is now a steady presence in her life. He recognizes the signs others miss. He's seen them before, in someone he loves. And he's not afraid to fight alongside her. In a gut-wrenching battle of secrets and survival, Gia must navigate the thin line between fear and freedom. And when the trap is set, and the hunter closes in, only one question remains:
What if the girl he thought would never leave is finally ready to fight back?
Miranda Olon is a lifelong lover of stories with a soft spot for the twisty, chilling kind. HUNTER is her debut novel, inspired by her obsession with psychological thrillers and a writing journey that began back in middle school... with a composition notebook, a head full of characters, and a habit of finishing classwork early just to keep writing.
Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Miranda now lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, the love of her life, and their child, the light of her life. Miranda studied music therapy at Mercyhurst University and now works as a board-certified music therapist in Northern Virginia. While her day job working in hospice care focuses on comfort and connection, writing gives her space to explore tension, survival, and the darker corners of the human mind. It's her favorite way to escape unwind, and create the kind of story that she'd stay up too late reading.
When she's not writing, you can probably find her crafting something fun, especially if the local library is hosting a hands-on event. She's got no formal writing degree (unless you count those AP classes she aced in high school), but she's got heart, imagination, and a growing collection of suspense-filled stories to share.
