Human Resource Management in Contexts: Managing People in the Age of GenAI and Diversity is a comprehensive and forward-looking textbook that explores the evolving landscape of Human Resource Management in today's dynamic global workplace.
Designed for undergraduate and postgraduate students, HR professionals, educators, and organizational leaders, this book bridges the gap between academic theory and real-world HR practice. It examines how organizational context, technological innovation, Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are transforming every aspect of people management.
Across twelve thoughtfully structured chapters, readers will gain practical insights into strategic HRM, recruitment and talent management, learning and development, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, workforce analytics, international HRM, and future trends shaping the profession. The book features contemporary case studies, discussion questions, learning outcomes, and global organizational examples that encourage critical thinking and practical application.
Rather than presenting HRM as a one-size-fits-all discipline, this book demonstrates how effective people management depends on organizational, cultural, legal, technological, and international contexts. It equips readers with the knowledge and analytical skills required to navigate complex workplace challenges while balancing innovation with ethical leadership and inclusive decision-making.
Whether used as a university textbook or a professional reference, Human Resource Management in Contexts: Managing People in the Age of GenAI and Diversity provides an essential guide for anyone seeking to understand and lead Human Resource Management in the age of artificial intelligence, globalization, and workforce diversity.
