Synopsis:
Movement studies is a core subject studied by all physiotherapists. A good understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of human movement is essential for good clinical practice. This book is written in three parts and assumes only a basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology. The first part covers the basic principles of biomechanics and the control of movement. Part two discusses the principles and types of exercise which can be used in rehabilitation and the final section looks at various clinical applications of movement such as relaxation, gait analysis and ergonomics.
