Print on Demand. This book argues that a small section of society has an unfair excess of resources, while many are suffering in poverty. This contrast between extreme superabundance and extreme deficiency is unjust and cannot last. The author believes those with more means should remedy the situation immediately, before it becomes more critical. The author's focus is on the urgent need to alleviate the pitiable and shameful condition of the poor in England at the time of the book's writing. It's a social and economic critique of extreme inequality and its consequences. It analyses how a small, wealthy elite benefits from the current industrial and commercial system at the expense of the poor. The book offers a unique perspective by highlighting the often forgotten and horrific suffering of the very poor and underprivileged. The author argues convincingly that the injustice of their situation violates basic human rights, and suggests that readers re -evaluate their own thinking and beliefs about social obligation and justice. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

IT is due to the criticisms and suggestions of friends that this small fragment is not more imperfect than it is, and I am very grateful to them.
I have had lately to dictate mainly instead of writing, with the result of many defects which, though patent enough, I have not always been able to correct.
There might, no doubt, have been further improvement in What is now published, but this would have taken time, and I felt that this appeal had already been too long deferred.
