These early editions have mixed states of color/b + w plates listed illustrations index and what is actually in book as well as differences from one edition/year to another. This copy has 11 color plates with two additional small tipped-in plates that are two color it appears. Then many types of b + w plates, drawings throughout book. Book is in decent condition for its age with pages in good condition with age-toning and some average reading wear. Previous owner name/inscription on endpaper; some spotting, age-toning to the outer page edges. The boards and spine are holding and square, but also compromised and slightly loose from age; there is fraying, scuffing, chipping to the top/bottom spine; some scuffing to the board edges; some age-toning, soiling, spotting to the boards. Overall, about good condition, but a very decent copy still with nice color plates.
