Undated but estimated 1917 or 1918 judging by a 1918 stamp on the preliminaries. An ex-library copy with the usual amount of stamps. No dust jacket. An edition with red black-lettered cloth covers and a black cloth spine. Heavy shelf wear and some loss to the book corners and splitting to the board edges. A strip of sunfading to the top of the front board. The spine has some splits. The binding is slackening but still reliable, and there are a few half-length cracks to the guttering at the beginning of the book, and a crack to the guttering beside the rear advertisements. The contents are in lovely shape for their potential century-plus age, and while they show some toning and dusty marks to the margins, the main body of text is unfaded and tidily kept.
