Paperback. Your life is a sealed hourglass. The sand was measured before you ever picked it up, it falls in only one direction, and no hand on earth can turn the glass back. What the falling sand builds is up to you.Legacy leadership begins the day you admit you are on the clock. The Hourglass Leader walks eight laws through the narrow place called today, each one carried by an emblem you will not forget: an hourglass that wakes you, a scale that weighs you, a bullfrog that teaches you to see, a bucket that pours courage, a feather that holds a house together, a kernel that multiplies, a shield that stands watch, and a field that will not wait. Every law is anchored to a single line of Scripture, set at the head of the chapter and waiting again at the close.Written in plain language for the boardroom, the classroom, the shop floor, and the kitchen table, this book asks for a pen as much as a reader. Work the urgency formula. Say the six statements. Name the four pitfalls before they name you. A nine-session guide in the back makes it a companion for teams, families, and small groups. The first law will wake you: you are on the clock. The last will steady you: when your final grain falls, the glass does not shatter. It is picked up by hands you trained, and turned. This book walks you from the one to the other.Dr. Dewitt T. Smith has spent his career leading and forming people. He is the founder of Primus Servus and the author of books on faith, leadership, and the Word, including The Why That Conquers Every How and The Unbroken Line. He and his wife, Amanda, are the parents of three daughters. The Why That Conquers Every How and The Unbroken Line. He and his wife, Amanda, are the parents of three daughters.
