De vrolijke Jasmijn staat midden in het leven, net als haar zes vriendinnen. Ze delen lief, leed en de grote vragen met elkaar. Carri�re, mannen, kinderwens: alles kan besproken worden bij een lekker taartje of een groot glas witte wijn. Geen van hen wil echt volwassen worden, maar als Jasmijn slecht nieuws krijgt, komt alles in een heel ander licht te staan: ze heeft borstkanker.

Na een borstamputatie en chemo probeert Jasmijn het leven weer op te pakken, maar haar oude energie lijkt ze maar niet terug te vinden. Gelukkig heeft ze veel steun aan haar vriendinnen, die ze via appjes op de hoogte houdt, met wie ze taartjes eet wanneer de controles goed zijn, en die de bruiloft met haar geliefde Ralf tot een extra bijzondere, intense dag maken. Maar net als ze zich veilig begint te wanen, vier jaar na de eerste diagnose, ontploft er een bom in haar leven. Ze is opnieuw ziek, en dit keer is er weinig reden tot optimisme.

Gaby Rasters heeft het leven van haar recent overleden vriendin als leidraad genomen voor het schrijven van dit boek. Zo is dit een zeer persoonlijke roman geworden die geen lezer onberoerd zal laten.
