In October 1967, bass player Steve Boone took to The Ed Sullivan Show stage for the final time with his band The Lovin' Spoonful. Boone and his bandmates had released an astounding nine Top 20 singles - the first seven of which hit the Billboard Top 10. Little did Steve Boone know that the path of his life and career would soon take a turn for the bizarre: From smuggling marijuana into the US from Colombia aboard a boat, through a period of addiction and the eventual reformation of the Lovin' Spoonful, Hotter Than A Match Head tells a staggering personal and musical story.
