A practical book offering new insights into the working of the horse's mind. It explores the reasons behind the horse's natural likes and dislikes, fears and habits, showing how their love for company has led to a sensitive and complicated use of signals. The "bad" behaviour of horses, says the author, is due to misunderstanding on our part, and to their being kept in natural conditions that cause them stress and unhappiness. She offers an approach to training and dealing with "problem" horses that uses the horse's natural behaviour and encourages harmony and great communication between horse and human. This book show anyone can learn to make a horse happier.
