R.M. Gorbachev, HarperCollins Publishers. The perestroika years have awakened new hopes among the Soviet people for change and prosperity in their country. In this book, Raisa Gorbachev, wife of the President of the USSR, gives her own spontaneous and personal response to the changes taking place in the Soviet Union, reflecting on her life and how her husband's reforms are restoring dignity to the nation, and discussing the role of women and the family and the newly-found religious tolerance in the USSR.
