About the Author:
Lucy Burningham is a writer who fell in love with beer when she moved to Portland, Oregon, from Salt Lake City in 2005. Since then she’s written about craft beer, food and travel for a variety of publications, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Saveur, Bon Appétit, Lonely Planet guidebooks, Epicurious, Imbibe and the BBC. She combined two of her favorite things—bikes and beer—when she co-authored Hop in the Saddle: A Guide to Portland’s Craft Beer Scene by Bike. She chronicled her journey to become a beer expert in My Beer Year, which will be published in fall 2016 (Roost Books).
Ellee Thalheimer is a Portland-based publisher, author, freelance writer and speaker. Her books include Lonely Planet's Cycling Italy, the Cycling Sojourner multi-day bike travel series for Oregon and Washington, and Hop in the Saddle: A Guide to Portland's Craft Brew Scene, by Bike. She has contributed to a number Lonely Planet guidebooks and written for various publications, including Alaska Airlines Magazine, 1859 Magazine, the BBC and Adventure Cyclist Magazine.The mission of her imprint Into Action Publications is to transform the world by making bike travel accessible and inspiring adventure.
Laura Cary is a graphic designer who builds brands she believes in. After graduating from Rhode Island School of Design, she followed her wanderlust west where she began her career in San Francisco designing for clients who ranged from bike companies to the opera. In Portland, Oregon, Laura founded Cary Design Group, a brand and identity firm. Portland has provided a welcome sense of community, bold entrepreneurial spirit and support of her love of the outdoors. Laura shares time between Portland and Trout Lake, Washington with her husband, their son, two dogs and nine bikes.
