Item description from seller

Possibly first published in 1940, this is a first revised edition, 1st impression. Some edge wear and chipping to top and bottom of jacket and spine, small loss to top and bottom of spine, corners and folds rubbed, some overall time staining, but brightly coloured retro jacket featuring basket of fruit and veg still quite bright and unsunned. Not price clipped (15/-), no inscriptions, internally clean tight and square, overall a vg++ copy for its age. 240pp. A genial, still relevant compendium of garden advice (I recently grafted my own apple tree, following instructions from this book). Wartime gardener Walter Brett specialised in these easy to follow guides to self sufficiency. Quite a scarce book.
