This fascinating new book illustrates life on the Home Front, with stories told through the eyes of people who lived through those traumatic years as children. Plus stories on the Home Guard, British Resistance Organisation - Secret Army, Women's Land Army, W.I., Air Sea Rescue, RAF, USAAF, Royal Observer Corps, The Isle of Dogs in London, RAF Rauceby Hospital and Lancaster Memorials.

There are two German Ordnance Survey maps of Lincolnshire acquired when the author was in France in 1944, plus recipes created in 1939 to augment the meagre rations, poems relevant to the stories, wartime advertisements and photographs that speak for themselves.

Because I was away for most of the war years serving in the RAF Regiment both in the UK and France and Germany, I have relied on other people to supply a lot of the information, and have therefore dedicated the book to Marie Curie Cancer Care and Macmillan Cancer Relief Funds.
