His body may be ending the career that defined him. His new agent is the one woman who refuses to tell him everything will be fine.
Eamonn Bresnehan has survived professional football by learning one rule better than anyone else.
Play through it.
Pain can wait. Fear can be hidden. Another player can never be allowed to look more necessary than he is.
Then his shoulder stops cooperating.
Suddenly the veteran tight end who has spent years being indispensable has no return date, a younger player taking his snaps and a club quietly preparing a future for him that he never agreed to.
Jebet Munene finds the trap before he signs it.
She is precise, relentless and infuriatingly unwilling to sell him hope she cannot guarantee.
As Eamonn’s newly appointed sports agent, her job is to protect his choices while everyone around him tries to make them first.
The club wants a cheaper contract.
Ownership wants a graceful transition.
Commercial executives want the beloved veteran turned into a public ambassador.
And somebody has already begun using his medical uncertainty, family obligations and private finances as leverage.
Jebet refuses to let them decide his future before Eamonn even knows what his injured body can still give him.
There is only one complication she cannot manage with another clause.
She wants him.
Their attraction begins in arguments, medical appointments and contract meetings where neither is willing to surrender control. It deepens during an unexpected overnight trip, quiet moments inside Eamonn’s home and the terrifying discovery that trust can feel more intimate than certainty.
But an agent falling for her own client is not merely inconvenient.
It can destroy Jebet’s credibility, threaten the career she has spent years building and give powerful people exactly the conflict they need to remove her from Eamonn’s side.
So they do what they are both good at.
They make rules.
Separate professional authority from personal choice.
Disclose the conflict.
Ask instead of assume.
Never use desire to make a decision fear should not control.
And never promise a future neither of them can guarantee.
Then private records are leaked, professional pressure becomes public and Eamonn discovers that the people planning his retirement started long before his injury gave them an excuse.
Now Jebet must decide whether protecting her career means walking away from the man who has learned to trust her with the truth.
And Eamonn must confront the question he has spent his entire adult life avoiding.
Who is he if football cannot promise to keep him?
The answer may cost them contracts, reputations and the futures they once planned.
But home was never supposed to be the place where someone else writes the rules.
Sometimes it is the person who stays while you learn to write your own.
Home Field Rules is Book Two of Red Zone Hearts, a high heat connected standalone professional football romance featuring a veteran tight end, sports agent heroine, forbidden client attraction, injury recovery, career uncertainty, public scandal, opposites attract chemistry, emotional vulnerability, open door heat and a complete happily ever after.
Jebet and Eamonn receive their own complete romantic ending, while Red Zone Hearts continues with a new central couple in The Last Risk.

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
