AN INVITATION TO LET THE HOLY SPIRIT LEAD YOUR LIFE
Imagine you were given the choice between two doors: one marked “The Study of the Holy Spirit” and the other “The Holy Spirit Is Here.” Which door would you choose? In Holy Spirit, David Young encourages the reader to choose the adventure over the classroom. His walkthrough of such key questions as “What is a spirit?” and “What does it mean for the Holy Spirit to live within us?” captivates the reader’s curiosity. Yet the end goal of this exploration goes beyond mere insights to being an invitation to a transformative way of life. Young delves into realities commonly accepted but experienced too rarely, such as the Holy Spirit’s role in making us like Jesus and the role of spiritual disciplines in letting the Spirit lead our lives.
This book challenges us to address a side of God that many find uncomfortable in a way that is engaging and theologically sound.
— Corey Trimble, Lead Minister, The Experience Community Church, Murfreesboro, TN
David’s book is a very winsome and valuable biblical survey of the Holy Spirit, which is, in tandem with much prayer, the foundation of any true disciple making momentum.
— Jerry Trousdale, author of Miraculous Movements
I highly recommend this critical tool for serious preaching, teaching, and personal studying of this important topic.
— Dr. David Roadcup, Professor of Discipleship, TCM International
DAVID YOUNG (PhD, Vanderbilt University) is the Lead Minister for the North Boulevard Church of Christ in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He has taught New Testament at several universities and traveled widely teaching and preaching. He is the author of several books, including A New Day, A Grand Illusion, and King Jesus and the Beauty of Obedience-Based Discipleship.
