The Holy Science – The Original 1920 Edition (Kaivalya Darshanam)

Written in 1894 by Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri, the revered Guru of Paramahansa Yogananda, The Holy Science (Kaivalya Darshanam) is a profound treatise that bridges the ancient wisdom of the East with the modern scientific understanding of the world. This original 1920 edition, first published in its entirety in Calcutta, has been carefully restored for readers seeking the purest version of this timeless work.

Swami Sri Yukteswar reveals the underlying unity between spiritual traditions, explaining the scientific basis of Consciousness, Cosmic Cycles (The Yugas), and the path to Self-realisation. He draws striking parallels between Vedic philosophy, Christianity, and modern science, offering a universal framework for understanding Divine Truth.

This edition preserves the original 1920 text, staying true to Swami Sri Yukteswar’s vision and wisdom. It offers a clear and structured explanation of the Yugas, deep insights into the nature of creation, Divine Consciousness, and liberation, and a rare glimpse into the spiritual teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda’s Guru.
