WINNER OF THE AURORA AWARD  by COMBAT FIGHTER PILOT & TEST PILOT Dan Daetz

A dying rebellion. A broken family. Can an executioner bring both back to life?

The Hole-Man has the ugliest job in the universe: he feeds human sacrifices into a black hole.

From his isolated space station, disgraced fighter pilot Baard Larsen completes his grim duty. Some say it appeases the gods. He just wants to finish his penance and return home. But will his daughter even give him a second chance?

Then the next sacrifice changes everything.

Maizia-a poised rebel with a provocative fire-doesn't beg for mercy. She explodes his beliefs. Torn between duty and treason, Baard must choose: execute another innocent...or join the Shadower rebellion against the tyrannical overlord who made him a monster.

The fight ahead is brutal: dogfights above irradiated skies, pursuits through mutant jungles, infiltrating the diseased heart of an empire. Baard faces betrayals...overwhelming odds...and haunting demons within.

Can the Hole-Man break free from his past, save those he loves, and bring hope to humanity's last outpost in the void? Or will the hungriest black hole consume him first-the one within himself?

The Hole-Man is gritty dystopian military science fiction with a beating heart.
