Early edition bound in black cloth with gold lettering and decorations . A Very Good copy in a Good, price-clipped dust jacket. Rubs to the b ook's spine tips and corners. Else clean, tight & unmarked. The dust j acket has chips to its corners. Fraying/chipping along the head and ba se of its spine. The front panel has tears and creases along its upper edge and wear along its lower edge. The rear panel is dust soiled and creased along its edges. A tear at the head of the spine has tape on its verso. Illustrated by Kurt Wiese with four color and eight black & white plates. Pictorial endpapers. Seller Inventory # 15550

The book was published by The John C. Winston Company in 1934 and appears to be a First Edition though it's not specifically stated as such. It is not an ex-library copy, has no dust jacket, and is in good + condition with its biggest deficit being a spine that is getting a bit brittle, and inscriptions on the front loose end page and back end pages. It is 6 1/8" by 8 5/8" and has 266 pages with Notes on the Text, a Glossary of Chinese Words, a Table of Contents and black-and-white illustrations . . . mostly black-and-white, but there are four color plates.
