In good condition. Original moire cloth typically worn with light scuffing, soiling to surface. Rounded corners. Spine extremes are rounded. Spine labels lightly chipped, toned. Slightly darkened cloth on spines. Parisian bookseller s plate on front paste downs. Volume one gutter is broken. Text blocks are lightly toned, free of marking. Light offsetting from plates. Bindings are shaken overall. Delicate, but can be handled and read. Please see photos. First edition, this with engraved frontispieces and seven engraved plates.
