Self-wrappers. Small 8vo, 8 pp. Promotional booklet recounting the history of St. Nicholas, "Scribner's Magazine for Boys and Girls," which began publishing in 1873. The author lauds the magazine as "a new departure in children's literature." Front page illustrated with a cut from the issue for October, 1876, front inside page with the headling "St. Nicholas in England" prints reports from the British press, next-to-last page prints letters from children, and back page has more editorial comments about the magazine from the American press.
