Condition: spine ends rubbed; corners lightly bumped & slightly rubbed through; spine a bit dulled; small amount of tape residue to 1st free endpaper & half-title page. Previous owners' names near top of half-title page; some penciled marginalia & underlining in text. Else a good copy. Loosely inserted in this copy is a handwritten & signed letter to a Mr. Sims from Sidney Heath, author of The Romance of Symbolism & Its Relation to Church Ornament & Architecture. He apologizes to Mr. Sims that he has no copy of his own work on symbolism to send him, but asks Mr. Sims to accept this copy of Hulme's work in its stead. Heath informs him that Hulme's discussion of religious symbolism is "quite sound." He also tells Mr. Sims that the book cost him 7/6 but he "will accept whatever you care to send."
