Stockdale, London, 1810, original edition; 4o, 240 x 285mm; pp xvi, [4], xvii-xxxi, [33]-492; 12 engraved plates, two of which are bound as frontispieces; lacks title but contents otherwise complete; half roan, marbled boards, boards rubbed and both detached and the spine absent; ex-library copy with the accession and reference label pasted on the the front pastedown; internally sound and generally clean but with the following elements to be noted - some light foxing but that heavier in a few instances, particularly on some of the early leaves, leaf iii/iv being weak at the head and with a small white paper patch stuck on the verso to give support; with the loose boards and missing spine the book looks worse than it perhaps is but nevertheless the denoting of it as "fair" is probably accurate and it's on account of these listed faults that it's offered at a lower than ordinary price to leave a margin for repair if desired. . . .
