New edition, 1822, in five volumes. The binding on these books is as they would have originally been published, ready to be rebound in leather, often with pages uncut and untrimmed. Tightly bound, pages wavy, some pages uncut, all pages untrimmed. Spines dry and chipped with loss to title labels, all boards firmly attached despite joints and hinges being cracked, still held together by the chords. Lean to some volumes. Vol I 494pp. Vol II 488pp, Vol III 471pp, Vol IV 495pp and Vol V 470pp. Approximately 10 inches tall. Condition Report Externally Spine fair condition paper repair to the spine of Vol 1, spines of all 5 volumes are cracked and the page gatherings are showing. Joints fair condition sound, worn, cracked but holding well by the chords. Corners fair condition the corners on all 5 volumes are bumped and worn. Boards fair condition all boards are covered in a blue paper with a pink coloured section down the joint edge, they are all marked and stained. See above and photos. Internally Hinges fair condition Vol 1, cracked rear hinge. Vol II, cracked front hinge, Vol III, slightly cracked, Vol IV, hinges are sound, Vol V, hinges are sound; all holding well by the chords. Paste downs fair condition all volumes are tanned with foxing. · End papers fair condition all volumes are tanned with foxing. · Pages good condition all pages in every volume are tanned and foxed and the front and bottom edges are untrimmed.
