Item description from seller

A smartly bound facsimile edition of this historical study of wine from British wine writer Cyrus Redding. Facsimile edition of the first edition, originally published by Whittaker, Treacher, & Arnot in 1833. The wines of modern times are much more desirable than those of the ancients, as far as can be discovered. But, we can only learn more about the delicate art of winemaking and growing if we observe the actions of those in the past. A detailed and comprehensive study into the history of vine, the vintage, and the sophistication of wines from France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Persia, Africa, America, and more. Written by Cyrus Redding, a British journalist and wine writer. In the original half calf binding with cloth covered boards. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities and fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Very Good.
