Octavo. 713pp., Bound in a gift binding of full tree calf centrally stamped Girls Public Day School Company, Limited, Capham High Schools with their motto all in gilt, raised bands, brown morocco spine label gilt, all other compartments fully gilt decorated, all edges marbled with matching endpapers, upper joint lightly rubbed with small 1/2" split near foot. Gift recipiants name and date to front free endpaper. Clapham Middle School, 1875-1904 merged with Clapham High School. Clapham High School, 1882-1938 merged with Streatham Hill and Brixton High School. Clapham is a district of south-west London within the London Borough of Lambeth and has a long early history and the Name Clapham is also found in the Doomsday book as Clopeham. A very nice near fine copy.
