XXViii pp +1264 pages with 12 double page maps and numerous woodcut illustrations, printed on india paper with gilt edges, marbled endpapers, full dark green morocco spines withhalf raised bands and gilt panels and titles, matching cloth boards, inscription inside volume 1 on endpaper "For Dearest Louie. With Aunt Mary's fond love. In appr.March 6th 1861" (one long word illegible). The set is complete and in lovely presentation condition. Volume 1 still has silk bookmark. VG+ Small octavo. (2). We are a small, single-owner business. We have been operating on and off since 1977 and our stock is varied, leaning towards antiquarian and 19th century with the addition of original aquatint and lithographic, or woodcut engravings. Also maps and Ephemera - in fact, anything interesting on paper really. We have in stock every item we list. We do not use stock photographs, but photograph each item individually. We very rarely use "fine" or "mint" as a description, mainly due to the age and the fact that 99.9% of what we sell has been pre-owned and therefor Fine would not be a term for a book we sell despite its fine-like appearance. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.
