Paperback. This sweeping historical novel for 8- to 12-year-olds tells the story of childhood friends Abigail Booth and Grace Fowler. United by a shared love of wild hills, beautiful things and their secret hideout - the Hill of the Angels - they find their world turned upside down when the English Civil War erupts. As the war violently divides neighbour against neighbour and brother against brother, Abigail and Grace find themselves ripped apart and their families standing on opposing sides. Separated by war and faith, will their friendship survive? Kids will be gripped by the powerful and moving story in Hill of the Angels, which vividly captures the poignancy and devastation of one of the most significant wars in English history. Beautifully written by Sue Mayfield and filled with memorable characters, it showcases the importance of love and friendship and explores the redemptive power of sacrifice. A novel for readers aged 10+ about friendship, the impact of war and the redemptive power of sacrifice Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.…
