Item description from seller

Book #3 in this publisher's more obscure "Idle Hours" series, one of many children's titles written by Mary Ireland (1834-1927), who would later become known as "the poetess of Cecil County" (Maryland). Though information on an early publication varies, this edition from Saalfield lists only 1927 as the copyright date. With deep blue cloth-covered boards elaborately decorated & lettered in black to front & sine (note: only "Hilda" appears as title on exterior), this 8vo is in VG+ condition: exceptionally clean & bright, binding strong & straight, rear hinge is cracked. Pages heavily tanned & somewhat brittle, but completely unmarked. The unclipped DJ (with cover art by Connie R. Bailey) is VG-: colorful, bright, & largely intact, but with chipping & rubbing to extremities; nicely protected in Free clear mylar cover. SPECIAL: order our other book in this series (#027001) & save 20% off both, with only $1.00 extra shipping for 2nd book! Our photos depict the exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same day shipping if ordered by 2 pm weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next day. …
