This book outlines these techniques by presenting high-order basis functions, explaining their use, and illustrating their performance. The specific basis functions under consideration were developed by the authors, and include scalar and vector functions for use with equations such as the vector Helmholtz equation and the electric field integral equation.
The book starts by considering the approximation of scalar functions, and explores the error in some of those representations. Roberto D. Graglia is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, Polytechnic of Turin, Italy. His interests include numerical methods for highand low-frequency electromagnetics, theoretical and computational aspects of scattering and interactions with complex media, waveguides, antennas, electromagnetic compatibility, and low frequency phenomena.
Andrew F. Peterson is a Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta. His interests include electromagnetic field theory and computational electromagnetics, with emphasis on the development of computational techniques for electromagnetic scattering, antennas, microwave devices, and electronic packaging applications.
