Still getting it done.
From the outside, everything looks fine.
But you are exhausted by succeeding.
High-functioning burnout is the specific and
underdiagnosed condition of people who are too
capable to stop, too responsible to let things fall,
and too committed to their self-concept as someone
who handles things to acknowledge that they are
not handling this.
It is burnout without the visible collapse.
Burnout that maintains performance while the person
behind the performance is quietly depleting.
This book is for you -- before the collapse that
is coming if the trajectory does not change.
Inside this book you will find:
- The neuroscience of burnout -- what chronic stress
actually does to the brain, the HPA axis, and the
autonomic nervous system
- Why high achievers are specifically vulnerable and
how the traits that drive success drive burnout
- A self-assessment to identify your specific burnout
pattern and where your depletion is concentrated
- The permission problem -- why you cannot stop and
the specific strategies to begin recovery anyway
- How to set limits that actually hold in
high-demand professional environments
- Evidence-based recovery protocols including sleep,
nature exposure, and meaningful activity
- How burnout damages relationships and what to do
- The values audit that reveals why the life you
have built is costing more than it is worth
- The performance-recovery periodization model for
sustainable high performance
- A personalized 3-phase burnout exit strategy with
realistic timelines
The burnout is not the enemy. It is the signal.
This book shows you how to read it and
what to do next.
