nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - High Church Doctrines Tested By The Scriptures: Four Lectures (1878) is a book written by James Muir McKerrow. The book is a collection of four lectures that were originally delivered by the author in 1878. The lectures are focused on testing the doctrines of the High Church against the scriptures. The author argues that many of the doctrines of the High Church are not supported by the Bible and that they are in fact contrary to its teachings. The first lecture is titled ''The Church and the Bible'' and it discusses the relationship between the Church and the Bible. The author argues that the Bible is the ultimate authority for the Church and that any doctrines or practices that are not supported by the Bible should be rejected. The second lecture is titled ''The Sacraments'' and it discusses the High Church view of the sacraments. The author argues that the High Church view of the sacraments is not supported by the Bible and that it is based on tradition rather than scripture. The third lecture is titled ''The Priesthood'' and it discusses the High Church view of the priesthood. The author argues that the High Church view of the priesthood is not supported by the Bible and that it is based on tradition rather than scripture. The fourth and final lecture is titled ''The Church and the State'' and it discusses the relationship between the Church and the State. The author argues that the Church should not be involved in politics and that it should focus on its spiritual mission.Overall, High Church Doctrines Tested By The Scriptures: Four Lectures (1878) is a critical examination of the High Church doctrines and their relationship to the Bible. The book is written in a clear and concise manner and it is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of the Church and its doctrines. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
