Your technique is not the problem. Your processing state is.
You have had rounds where everything connected. Movement felt natural. Timing appeared without effort. Then, without warning, it disappeared. Same technique. Same position. Same intention. Different result.
You have drilled the movements, refined the details, and followed instructions that worked for others. Sometimes they work for you. Sometimes they do not. And every time, you are left with the same question: why did it work then and not now?
Most answers focus on what you did. The grip. The angle. The timing. Very few explain what was happening underneath.
Hexa Motus identifies six processing states that govern how you perceive, decide, and move under pressure. Each state has a distinct mechanism, a detectable physical signal, and a specific intervention that returns you to clarity. This is not a technique book. It is a framework for understanding the operating system beneath your techniques.
The six states:
Pressure narrows your awareness to a single point while the rest of the position breaks unmonitored. Comfort dims your scanning when you feel safe, letting your opponent build escapes in silence. Ego distorts your perception around an outcome you have already committed to, making you blind to what is actually available. Reaction eliminates your evaluative processing entirely, leaving your body running on predictable patterns. Pursuit displaces your attention to a future position before the current one is secured. Collapse saturates your processing when simultaneous threats exceed your capacity to organize them.
Clarity is what remains when none of these are active. It is not a mystical state. It is your processing system operating at its designed capacity.
Every chapter is grounded in specific mat scenarios you will recognize from your own training. Every signal is physically detectable. Every intervention is executable during a live round. The book includes a complete transition map showing how the states connect, a developmental model for how recognition speed improves over time, a between-rounds review method, and a drilling methodology for training condition-reading alongside technique.
"You do not need to be a better grappler. You need to be a clearer one."
For BJJ practitioners, grapplers, and martial artists who have the technique but cannot figure out why it works sometimes and not others. Hexa Motus gives you the framework to see what has always been happening — and the tools to work with it.
